2 Reasons Why You Must Resist the Need to Be Perfect

2 Reasons Why You Must Resist the Need to be Perfect Do you remember that one time in fifth grade when you had to read your fiction novel in front of your entire class? Well, maybe it wasn't a fiction novel. Whatever it was, do you remember how nervous you were? If you have a fear of public speaking, you probably recall those moments from childhood and carried them into adulthood. The fear of failure from the past has lead to perfectionism in your adult life. You know that has to stop, right? Here's why it's imperative for you to resist the need to be perfect.Earlier this week, I sent out my weekly newsletter to my subscribers about perfectionism. What lead me to writing about the need to be perfect is because it's a huge flaw of mine. I'm highly critical of myself and my work. I want to make sure that I'm always doing my best. Giving your all is not a bad thing. But when your critiques become crippling, you really have to analyze your methods to achieving your best result. Here's two reasons why you simply have to resist the need to be perfect, starting today.

2 Reasons Why You Must Resist the Need to be Perfect

  • You are not in control. How many times are you going to try to control what has yet to happen before you realize that you absolutely can't do that? I don't care who or what you believe in, you are not in control of the exact outcome for situations in life. All you can do is your best and hope that everything turns out the way you desired. And if it doesn't, did you die? NO.
  • You will fail. All the avoiding you were doing and you end up failing anyway. Jokes on you. No but seriously, it's not the end of the world. Getting anxious about putting out your best work at exactly the right time or not at all, proves what? It proves that you're crazy and probably suffer from self-inflicted panic attacks (which has definitely happened to me in the past).

[Tweet "The reason you're trying to be perfect is to mask your fear of being wrong. Stop now."]Your concerns about being perfect are valid, but not being perfect does not make you a failure. So back to me, lol. I've developed so much anxiety around doing videos that I did nothing. I have no logical reason as to why I can't do videos well. All of my reasons are excuses and fear based. And we all know that fear isn't real.I'm challenging myself to post two videos a month. Have you seen my first one? Please watch it and let me know what you think. Go ahead and subscribe while you're at it, to stay up to date with me.[embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lP4bc--CzVY[/embed]What are you postponing because of your need to be perfect?
