Weekend at a Glance: Apple Picking Fun #96
Saturday, a good group of friends and I migrated to the North Georgia mountains in Ellijay, Ga for some apple picking fun. There are so many activities to do during the Fall season that I haven't been able to cross off my bucket list so I'm glad when my friend Johane invited me on this trip.We traveled to Ellijay, GA and arrived at the B.J. Reece Orchard. It was a little under two hours drive from Atlanta. Gilmer County is known as the 'Apple Capital of Georgia', according to Wikipedia and no kidding! We passed a few apple orchards along the way.I've never seen such tiny apples! I cannot wait to clean and eat them. Speaking of eating, did you know that your fruit are not supposed to look squeaky clean like they do in the stores? They're supposed to look crusty. No pesticides, or whatever. The view at the top of the mountains was breathtaking! It feels so great to take a break from inhaling all the toxins from city life to enjoying fresh air in the country.Despite the brisk weather, three infants, and two toddlers, I think everyone had a blast. We picked so many apples. Many of the strollers were used to stow away more apples, lol. I'm trying to think of all the ways we can use the apples so please help me if you have any ideas.I would totally do it again.Until next time.
