The EX factor

This past Sunday I experienced a worship like none other. Usually, I attend Destiny Metropolitan Worship Church on Wednesdays for Bible study. I absolutely love how they dive into the Word and make it plain for slow people like me. The past two Sundays I started back going to their 2:30 service (they have FOUR services). I was NOT prepared or even expected to be as blessed as I was. Whenever I go there, I feel like I encounter Christ every time. I'm almost always in tears at every service. Every time, I feel like I'm holding something back. Well this past Sunday, I could not any longer.Their current series is called The Church Has Left the Building. Here we learned about who the church is. Check out some of the notes.Let me get to the part of the service that got me. In the very beginning, a  video was played. [Sorry, having issues with WP. I really wanted to attach the video. Maybe later.]After watching that, I figured out that the message was not about a particular person but about a situation or sin. The point was to celebrate being set free from certain sins so that they would become EX's. I thought that was so powerful. At the very end of the service, everyone was given a red sticky note to write down their EX and nail it to the make shift cross. What a poignant message and affirmation being sent to the Father. What a relief to let something go that has been giving you so much pain. What a comfort to know that all we have to do is give it all to God and let him handle it.I knew what I had to do. I knew what I had to let go of in order to be closer to Him. I let my EX fornication go. Only God knows how this journey is going to be a TOUGH one! What feels good is not always good for you. Boy oh boy. Something about putting this out into the universe helps me to hold myself accountable more.Pray for me is all I ask.

1 Peter 1:3-5 (The Message) What a God we have! And how fortunate we are to have him, this Father of our Master Jesus! Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we've been given a brand-new life and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven—and the future starts now! God is keeping careful watch over us and the future. The Day is coming when you'll have it all—life healed and whole.
