Overwhelmed
So much has happened in the nine days that I've been in Lagos. So many emotions. So many back and forth decisions. I'm literally overwhelmed and confused.I must say, I appreciate country living so much. In America, we're so obsessed with the status quo and making it big. Everyone is trying to impress someone. People are out here hustling to live. And!!!! IT'S NOT HOW THOSE FOOLS PORTRAY AFRICA ON AMERICAN TELEVISION!! I do not sleep in a hut or drink from a stream. Not that there's anything wrong with that. But America only wants to show the poverty aspect of Africa. It's so annoying. That's why it's so important to me to experience cultures through traveling.I haven't been able to do much touristy things because the purpose of this trip is my best friends wedding. I did notice a few things though.1. Nigerians are very big on traditions.2. Everyday, every hour, is rush hour.3. If you're nigerian, you're probably naturally a hustler.4. They love drinking HennessyIt's almost six am now. Today is the American wedding. I'm in the hotel with the rest of the bridesmaids. I should be showering as I'm supposedly getting my makeup done at six am. Grrrr!Xoxo.
