Flavors and Colors of Haiti
Yesterday, I attended a grande gala hosted by the Consulate General of Haiti in Atlanta celebrating the arts, fashion and culture of Haiti. Held at the Westside Cultural Arts Center in Atlanta, we danced to the music, we dined on the traditional cuisine and most of all, we showed our support.First of all, thank you to Danica Kombol, Lexi Severini and Kelly Heisler (not pictured) over at Everywhere for the gracious invite. After mixing and mingling, three other bloggers (Nikka, Arkeedah and Tiffini) and I got the best seats in the house for the fashion show: front row.The fashion show featured styles from seven designers, my favorite being Lisa Nicole Cloud.I saw this dressed and dropped my jaw. Such intricate attention to details. The designer, Lisa, in green.Hasascha Brutus had some really cool pieces as well. Costumey meets elegance.I had to snap a few pics of these girls. I guess the male model was just THAT attractive. Cracked me up.Overall, it was a beautiful event. It makes me really proud to see Haitians pursuing artistic careers. I support it 100%.Special congratulations to Consul General Gandy Thomas for his efforts with the Haitian community in Atlanta. To see more photos from the event, check out the album on the Heart of Haiti page.
