Crazy Faith
"Having faith often means doing what others see as crazy. Something is wrong when our lives make sense to unbelievers." Francis Chan I picked up Crazy Love by Francis Chan last night. I started reading it a few years ago and never got around to completing it. I happened to fall upon the chapter called "Your Best Life...Later". How appropriate as I find myself in yet another transitional phase in life. You might be wondering, "Does this girl ever get tired of transitioning? Will she ever arrive to her destination?" Those questions are valid. And the answer is simply this: I'm always evolving. To stay the same when even everything around us changes, is absurd. When I evolve, I'm born again. I shed a layer of "skin" and make way for new journeys and experiences.Back to the chapter in the book. Chan discusses God and giving and how giving your all without knowing the outcome, requires faith. He says, "When it's hard and you are doubtful, give more." That's a crazy thought. But that kind of giving of yourself shows God how much faith you have in Him. That brings me to the next question Chan asks. What are you doing right now that requires faith?I wish I could tell you guys all that has transpired in my life since my last post. God is stirring up stuff in me that I can't really articulate just yet. Soon, I will tell you. But until then, answer that question yourself. Are you giving all that you have, having faith that God will provide? As the quote by Neale Donald Walsch goes: Life begins at the end of your comfort zone. There's something amazing in store for you IF you give all you've got and believe.Photo credit: We Heart It
