It's day six and I still don't feel completely ready for 2014.It's like the year literally snuck up on me. I can admit, I am ill-prepared for a new start. If you, like me failed to prepare in December, it's not too late to start again. Here's how to stay on track in 2014.

5 Ways to Stay on Track in the New Year

#1 CALENDARI don't know about you but I'm obsessed with these things. Whether it's the paper or online format, having a calendar to keep you organized is vital to staying on task. Especially for me as a blogger.#2 DISCIPLINERealize that although you may very well intend to do a lot of things, sometimes you're not motivated to do anything. When I worked full-time, I knew I had to be up at a certain hour and be at work for another amount of time. I'm trying to keep that same routine although I am not employed. Wake up early, take a "lunch break" and then get back to working on projects.#3 AN ACCOUNTABILITY PARTNER OR A SUPPORT SYSTEMLetting someone know your plans may help you achieve them. Reach out to those closest to you and ask them to hold you accountable to whatever it is. And remind yourself not to get upset when they start to sound like a nagging mother.#4 DON'T WASTE TIMEIt's so easy to lose track of time. One minute you're watching the season premiere of The Kardashian's, next you're five episodes deep into the previous season. Kim was so funny during her pregnancy. I know.Set a time limit for everything. It may seem cold and impersonal when it comes to friendships & relationships but you can easily get caught up in nothingness when you KNOW you need to be productive.#5 END GOAL It helps to imagine what it will look like when you've accomplished something. Makes all the hard work and effort worth it.Hey, did you know today is the most depressing day of the year? Cheer up. You've damn near made it through!
